Meet Gay lee schumann, ma, lpc

Life is a giant coffee bar! The question is whether you have the ingredients that you need to get you through the day.

There is a huge difference between some coffee bars and others. Some coffee areas have day old coffee and sugar that is spilt all over the table. Others have a plethora of options. They include any number of sweetener options, along with creams, napkins, stirs and flavors to make your day bright.

I help clients re-fill their coffee bars (or fill it for the first time) so that they can not only be there for others…but for themselves!

My style

Once you learn how to fill your own coffee bar, the options are endless!

Even if our parents, teachers and everyone around us was wonderful when we were children, they were still less than perfect. This results in us missing important coffee ingredients along the way. The more ingredients that we are missing, the less that we have for ourselves…and for others. Once we are adults, we may find that the added responsibilities of adulthood take away more of our coffee ingredients. When we run out of patience, endurance and strength, we then begin to feel guilty about the ingredients that we are missing. However, we did not lose them on purpose. There is hope! We can work toward re-filling our coffee bars…or even fill them for the first time! We can learn to give ourselves what we have not received.

Through a variety of approaches, such as homework activities, journaling strategies, breathing exercises, exploring solutions, whiteboard activities and several others, I help clients to find ways to fill their coffee bars in ways that work for them so that they have the tools to add whatever ingredients that they need or want to their lives.
